London Scottish team up with 4th Dimension
London Scottish FC announced today that 4th Dimension with Tony Copsey at the helm will join forces with the club by undertaking the functions of CEO.
“This major appointment follows on from establishing a strong board, top level coaching and support, a professional squad of both young developing players alongside experienced ex-premiership players and is another building block in delivering success for London Scottish,” said London Scottish chairman David Reid.
Copsey has vast experience within the world of rugby, having previously worked as commercial manager for the Scarlets, managing director for Harlequins and CEO at London Wasps. Whilst at Quins, he spent over seven successful seasons helping to mastermind a threefold increase in turnover and developing one of the best rugby only stadiums in Britain.
After working at Harlequins, he joined Wasps in 2007 over a season where the team won the Guinness Premiership title in front of a record crowd at Twickenham. The summer that followed saw him lead a restructuring of the commercial division of Wasps – the success of this has been demonstrated by an increase in crowds at Adams Park, the 33,000 attendance seen at the ‘Battle of the Capitals’ game at Twickenham between Wasps and Leinster, and by sponsorship agreements that included a £1 million partnership with EMC.
After leaving London Wasps, Copsey set up 4th Dimension (formerly Copsey Consultancy), where, amongst current projects, he is working on the promotion and organisation of the London Wasps St George’s Day Game at Twickenham next month.
“I’m delighted to be working with London Scottish. They are a club who have big ambitions and a vision to get back to where they belong – in the top echelons of the game. I am very much looking forward to working with everyone associated with this great club in taking on the task in hand,” said Tony Copsey.
